Charge Exchange in Matter

Charge of ions inside matter

As an option MOCADI can use cross sections for charge exchange to modify the ionic charge during the passage through matter. This does not only influence the charge-state distribution at the exit but also the variation of energy-loss inside the matter.

Examples of two succesive MUSICs and the influence on the MUSIC resolution for Z~90 at 550 MeV/u or at 650 MeV/u.
