Sub-systems

Each sub-system contains a collection of EPICS IOCs, each in control of a certain device and aspect of the sub-system.

R3B
---

The R3B sub-system is organised into detector specific sub-systems:

+ Neuland
+ CALIFA
+ GLAD
+ Tracking
+ Active Target
+ High-resolution spectrometer

Each of these sub-systems can be operated independent from each other. These sub-systems each are operated using several hardware components, which are controlled and monitored individually. :ref:`nustar_dcs_status` shows the current status of the implementation of these sub-systems.

In addition, R3B started development of `R3B common systems` as part of NUSTAR central services, which provides functionality that can be commonly used by all other sub-systems.
