E814/E877 home page
E814 and E877 were heavy ion experiments at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) Alternating Gradient Synchrotron (AGS). E814 started operation in 1986 and the first data were taken in 1987. In 1991 AGS was upgraded to accelerate gold beams. At the same time E814 was upgraded to cope with the higher particle multiplicities from Au+Au interactions and became E877. Main data taking runs for E877 were in 1993, 1994, and 1995.
