The Wolfgang-Paul-Award for PhD student research
The German Society for Mass Spectrometry (DGMS)
is presenting every year the "Wolfgang-Paul-Studienpreis"
to the
best Diploma and PhD theses in the field of mass spectrometry. The award is donated since 1997 by
Bruker-Daltonik (Leipzig) with a total amount of EUR 12,500.
The prize-money can be shared where 2,500 EUR and 5,000 EUR are awarded to Diploma and PhD theses, respectively.
The award honours Prof. Wolfgang Paul
who received the Nobel prize in Physics in 1989
for the development of the ion trap technique (shared with Hans Dehmelt). The awards ceremony is held at the annual meeting of the
DGMS.
