=================================================================
There are two problems/solutions discussed in this techtip. Be sure to read to the end!

Solaris 2.5 Problem Overview:
=============================

The NCD will randomly display a logout message during a dtlogin
session as if it has lost connection with the DTLOGIN host.
However, it has not really lost connection with the DTLOGIN host.

When this problem happens, the following messages is displayed
in the logout dialog box:

        Warning: TCP session running on host "hostname".
        There are 4 local and 11 remote applications running.
        Shutdown windows and logout?

        Yes             Show                    No

"No" option would be desirable but this message will repeat again.

And increasing the XDM keep-alive value in the NCD remote configuration
file does not seem to help the problem, but there is a possible
solution described below.

Potential Solutions:
===================

This solution is known to help when using Solaris 2.5 with CDE.

Sun Support provides the following CDE patches which will fix the
problem described above once the patches are applied:

        103461-15, 104661, 104471, 104374, 103846.

For more information about these patches, please contact Sun Technical
Support.

Solaris 2.6 Problem Overview:
=============================

Solaris 2.6 dtlogin fails after first logout. When a user logs out, ending the X terminal session, the master dtlogin goes away and no further logins are possible. Other terminals lose their sessions.

Sun patch #105703-03 fixes this problem
