Article Title : window off screen Creation Date : 07/01/93 Message ID : EGRNWQ Last Update : Location : NCD-Articles/Host_Systems/VMS Expiration Rules : unknown ================================================================= |I am running Xremote 2.4-XA on a monochrome 19r under DECwindows on VMS. When |I type SET TERM/PAGE=large_number (like 60), Xemote makes a window with that |many rows but places the top of the menu bar at the top of the screen with the |tilte bar completely off the top of the screen. Then I cannot move the window |or iconify it. So it looks like this: | | | -------------------------- | | title | | ----------------------------------------------- <-- top of screen | | | File Edit Commands... | | | | | -----------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ----------------------------------------------- You can always move the window down using the window manager accelerator key Alt-F7. If you touch alt-f7 while focused in the window, the move box will appear and mouse movements will move the window regardless of whether the title bar is accessible. Similarly, alt-f8 will invoke sizing. NCDwm's other accelerators are visible in its box if you click on it. Some clients have a "keepOnScreen" resource to keep this problem from happening. I assume you are talking about a DECterm. I think that the DECterm does not support such a resource, so, I think the accelerators I mention will solve this problem more readily.
