NCDware Releases -- Key Features

Each version of NCDware has offered new features and performance
enhancements.  The following are the highlights of the NCDware
software releases for the last four years.

NCDware 4.0.118

Highlights of This Release:

o	 New Explora family of terminals.

o        The newest member of the HMX family, the HMX-Pro24 adds support
  	 for 24-bit color.

o 	 Servers consist of a core server and a number of seperate loadable
  	 modules.

o  	 A simplified installation procedure fo Unix hosts.

o 	 Added Support for Solaris 2.x

o 	 Added DPS (Display PostScript) support for the HMX family of
  	 NCD terminals.

o 	 Added support for downloadable charater sets in "ncdterm"

o 	 Revised the 2.7 Boot Monitor PROM(s) for HMX terminals, adding some
         new features.

o        Changed the NVRAM layout.

o        Added support for as many "ncdterm" terminal emulator windows as the
	 memory in your terminal allows.
 
o	 Added support for subdirectories on PCMCIA cards.

o	 Added new manuals in the NCDware documentation set.

o	 For VMS sites, added online access (through the VMS HELP ultility)
	 to the Unix style man pages that were published in Chapter 8 of the
  	 NCDware 3.2. Reference Manual.

o	 The NCDware distribution is available only on CD-ROM.

o	 NCD no longer supports server PROM(s).

o	 NCD no longer provides PCMCIA cards in 2-megabyte format.

o	 LAT only environment are note supported when booting from PCMCIA.

o	 New, revised, and obsolete remote configuration parameters are
	 described in the Product Releaase Notes.

 
In this release, NCD X servers include a core server and several
loadable modules. (See \`Loadable Modules\' on page 16 of Product Release
Notes for more information.)
