Straightforward with the delivered Imakefile:

xmkmf
make clean
make all
make install
make install.man

AIX (5.3,6.1,7.1)

Adapt Imakefile:

INSTALLDIR=/tmp/xcal-3.3
INSTALLFLAGS = $(InstallFlags) -c -g biodev # specify appropriate group for non-root installation
BINDIR = /tmp/xcal-3.3/bin
MANDIR = /tmp/xcal-3.3/man/mann
LIBDIR = /tmp/xcal-3.3/lib
