Restoring a mksysb Completes but Receives Segmentation Faults
Environment
OS Level: AIX Version 4.2.1
Type/Model: F50 or H50
Problem
A mksysb restores successfully despite receiving segmentation faults
and core dumps during the process of restoring.
Solution
If the system has SSA disks, the problem occurs when the bootinfo -B
command is run on the SSA disks during the restore. This causes the core
dump.
The problem is resolved with APAR IX71985 which is in
bos.chrp.base.rte in AIX Version 4.2.1.5.
