Some bare minimum information about the jumper settings on the WD7000 controller card.
NOTE 1: With the SCSI interface enabled, you CAN NOT use the QIC-24 cartridge drive with the separate Archive controller board. If you want a cartridge drive you must use the SCSI cartridge drive.
NOTE 2: The WD7000 controller automatically supports both 380MB and 760MB drives without any jumper changes.
The following WD7000 jumper settings should work for a 380MB or 760MB ESDI boot disk, with external SCSI interace *ENABLED* and the SCSI TAPE interface enabled. The floppy is marked as present but in most cases the jumper settings don't matter. key: * = pin with jumper block in place o = bare pin W1 * * o floppy control W2 * * floppy precomp (in) W3 o o floppy spindle speed (out) W4 o o floppy presence (out = floppy, in = no floppy) W5 * o o * o o o * o o o [1] Disk I/F, jumper across rows 1/2 for ESDI * o o * o o o * o o o [2] boot disk or across 2/3 for SCSI disks. o o o o o o o o o o o [3] ^----- IRQ 11 ^------- IRQ 12 ^--------- IRQ 13 ^----------- IRQ 14 ^------------- IRQ 15 ^--------------- DACK 5 ^----------------- DACK 6 ^------------------- DACK 7 ^--------------------- DRQ 5 ^----------------------- DRQ 6 ^------------------------- DRQ 7 W6 o o o * o * * o I/O address = IA0 o o o * o * * o W7 o o o o o [1] SCSI TAPE Interrupt = IRQ5.
