DECstation 5000/260 specific notes
This is the top of the line of Mips-based DEC workstations. Quite rare,
since it appeared in 1992, when it was already clear that DEC would drop
their Mips line in favour of Alpha.
I got it via an eBay auction, at a decent price (with regard to its rarety).
It came with an original DEC monitor and stuff, so I had to pick it up
directly from the seller, A.Abel, in the city of Dresden, which is a four hours
drive from where I live.
Nice guy, he and his girlfriend took their time to show us their historical hometown.
So it was a well spent Sunday, in January 2007, short after winter storm "Kyrill"
has devastated parts of Germany, and still a chilly wind was blowing.
